Creating and using a Padlet account

Creating and using a Padlet account

Padlet is a tool that will allow you to make noticeboards, brainstorm, keep notes, discuss topics, pose questions and collect feedback.

Build a wall

  1. Go to Padlet http://padlet.comExternal Link
  2. Select the Login button in the top right corner to create an account.
  3. You will be able to login with a Google account if you have one, or alternatively sign up to create a new account.
  4. Once logged in you can create a new wall by selecting the + sign.
  5. The wall will be saved and is available from the home page of the Padlet site.
  6. You have the option of selecting a small image to associate with the wall or, alternatively, add your own image.
  7. Add a Title and Description to save your wall.
  8. You can alter the background if they wish as well by choosing the Wallpaper icon on the right side of the screen.

Share the wall for everyone to add their own entries

  1. To share the wall for everyone to contribute, select the Share icon on the right hand side of the screen.
  2. There are multiple ways to share a wall for collaboration within Padlet including: embedding the code into a learning management system, sharing to social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tumblr and Pinterest. You can also share the wall by email or by simply giving other users the URL available by copying the URL or under the Mobilize section.
  3. Selecting the Email option will open your email account. (If using the email option, it is suggested that you change the text to something that suits the purpose of the wall.)

Editing the wall

  1. Double click anywhere on the wall to add a post.
  2. The three icons at the bottom allow you to add a hyperlink to a website, image, video etc, upload a file as well as insert an image from a webcam.
  3. The wall will save automatically as you add extra posts.
